Baseball Recap: De Leon Falls Short of Albany in the Playoffs

De Leon and Albany squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but De Leon had to settle for second. They fell 5-2 to the Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 14-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

De Leon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adam Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for De Leon and nudges their season record down to 13-9-1. As for Albany, the win got them back to even at 6-6-3.

While De Leon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
