Basketball Recap: North Central Comes Up Short

North Central fought the good fight in their overtime match against Stuart on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the Stuart Broncos. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for North Central and nudges their season record down to 8-9. As for Stuart, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

North Central is taking a road trip to take on Creighton at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. North Central is facing Creighton at the right time seeing as Creighton is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Stuart, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Mary's at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Stuart has won four straight at home, while St. Mary's won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
