Football Game Preview: DeWitt Panthers vs. Mt. Pleasant Oilers + How To Watch

The DeWitt Panthers will challenge the Mt. Pleasant Oilers at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Both teams are still undefeated after 13 games, but that won't be the case come Sunday.

DeWitt is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on De La Salle Collegiate with a sharp 41-20 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Traverse Moore produced another solid effort rushing for 320 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 88-yard run. Another player making a difference was Tyler Bayshore, who rushed for 57 yards and one score on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: DeWitt was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 425 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 332 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to DeWitt's defense and their three sacks. Everett Cooper was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. DeWitt got some further help from Cooper Chambers: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant made easy work of Lowell on Saturday and carried off a 41-21 victory. The Oilers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth contest they've won by 20+ points this season.

DeWitt better keep an eye on Jack Mozurkewich. He was instrumental in Mt. Pleasant's win, picking up 28 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Mt. Pleasant's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for DeWitt, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 13-0.

DeWitt was able to grind out a solid win over Mt. Pleasant in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 56-49. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Oilers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
