Recap: Hudson Cobras vs. Central Bears
The Hudson Cobras had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 45-41 W over Central on Thursday. The victory was just what Hudson needed coming off of a 72-11 defeat in their prior contest.
Hudson found their leader in underclassman Gabriella Reigada, who scored eight points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Reigada grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Cloie Hagin, who scored ten points.
Central's loss came despite strong showings from Leilani White and Delanee Duncan. White scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Duncan scored eight points along with three steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Duncan grabbed two or more steals.
Hudson's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Central, their loss was their 11th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudson will take on Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Nature Coast Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday. As for Central, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Leesburg at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Leesburg's defense has only allowed 19.9 points per game this season, so Central's offense will have their work cut out for them.
