The Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts are on the road again on Tuesday to play the Holmes Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Lloyd Memorial will be strutting in after a win while Holmes will be coming in after a defeat.
Lloyd Memorial will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Dayton, who they hadn't topped in eight consecutive meetings. Lloyd Memorial sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Dayton on Monday.
Layla Laudick made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Laudick was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madysen Godsey, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Malyah Jones, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Holmes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 17-3 walloping at the hands of Bellevue.
