Softball Recap: Wiseburn- Da Vinci Beats Hawthorne for Their Third Straight Victory

Wiseburn- Da Vinci had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Hawthorne Cougars as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Wolves have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Gabriella Silva made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anali Jimenez, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Vanessa Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .433 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Hawthorne, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Looking ahead, Wiseburn- Da Vinci will take on Palos Verdes at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sea Kings' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hawthorne, they will square off against Lennox Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
