Football Recap: Eunice Piles Up the Points Against Legacy Academy + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Eunice had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Legacy Academy Silverbacks 62-18. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Elijah Melancon, who rushed for 104 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries, and also threw for 254 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended one pass.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eunice was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legacy Academy only rushed for 73.

Eunice didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Haziel Goitia.

When it comes to explaining why Legacy Academy lost, don't look at Bryant Scales. Despite the final result, he picked up 132 receiving yards and one score.

Eunice has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points over those games. As for Legacy Academy, they moved to 10-2 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Eunice wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 42-7 loss against Texico on the 29th. Legacy Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
