Overfelt has gone 9-1 against Mt. Pleasant recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Royals will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Overfelt made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Gunderson, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Royals put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 17-4 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Royals sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

ELIJAH CASTANEDA-AZCUETA and ADRIAN BARAJAS did most of the damage at the plate: CASTANEDA-AZCUETA went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while BARAJAS scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those six RBI gave CASTANEDA-AZCUETA a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of BRANDON GONZALEZ, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Overfelt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .595 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant got the win against Independence on Thursday by a conclusive 12-2. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the 76ers: they've now won five in a row.
Vincent Salcido and Isaiah Arroyo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Salcido tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Arroyo tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Salcido scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Arroyo scored three runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Mt. Pleasant let Isaiah Pena and Julian Saldana run wild. Pena scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Saldana scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Saldana is becoming a predictor of Mt. Pleasant's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
Overfelt's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Overfelt has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 11.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mt. Pleasant struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Overfelt took their victory against Mt. Pleasant in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0 score. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
