Volleyball Recap: Southern Christian's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Southern Christian came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Guardian Christian Athletics Angels on Saturday as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the first time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win on Saturday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Southern Christian took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-12, 25-15.

Southern Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trinity Jerkins out in front who had eight aces. Those eight aces gave Jerkins a new career-high.

Jerkins wasn't the only good server: Southern Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 29 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Southern Christian's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for Guardian Christian Athletics, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Southern Christian beat the Angels by a score of 3-0 later that day.
