Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

If Mountain View was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Buena last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mountain Lions lost 3-0 to the Catalina Foothills Falcons on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Mountain View took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-20.

Oliver Scott paced Mountain View's offense, picking up five kills. Scott got some help from Chase Reidhead and his nine assists. Kristopher Klappert controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Catalina Foothills, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-10.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mountain View is set to square off against their familiar foe Pueblo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Catalina Foothills will take on rival Buena at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
