Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Christian Academy Starts Season with Win Against Rolla Homeschool

Providence Classical Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They really took it to Rolla HomeSchool for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-26 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 31-point advantage.

Providence Classical Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Naomi Sparks, who went 10-for-14 to rack up 20 points and three steals. Sparks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Spurbeck, who shot 71% from the field on her way to 10 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Looking ahead, Providence Classical Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Classical Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Rolla HomeSchool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crosspoint Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
