Basketball Recap: Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings vs. Meyersdale Red Raiders
After flying high against Hyndman Charter School last Thursday, Shanksville Stonycreek came back down to earth. The Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meyersdale Red Raiders. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Raiders earlier this season, when they won 60-37.
Meyersdale's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Hainsworth, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds. Those 13 points gave Hainsworth a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Vogt, who posted 13 points.
