Pierce faced Norfolk Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bluejays walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Knights. The win was familiar territory for the Bluejays, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Nora Herian paced Pierce's offense, picking up 24 kills. Herian got some help from Adrienne Riggert and her 35 assists. Riggert was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Despite the defeat, Norfolk Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Reese Timmerman had 20 digs.

Pierce's victory bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Norfolk Catholic, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 24-5 record.

As of now, neither Pierce nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
