Albuquerque is 0-3 against Los Lunas since October of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 11:00 a.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
Albuquerque barely beat Atrisco Heritage Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs breezed past the Jaguars to the tune of 28-0 two weeks ago. That looming 28-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Julian Madera had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 79 yards and two TDs on only nine carries, and also threw for 22 yards and one touchdown. Those 79 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alberto Landeros, who rushed for 117 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Albuquerque was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Albuquerque didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of James Montano and Roman Viscarra.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Los Lunas). They claimed a resounding 57-14 victory over West Mesa. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Albuquerque better keep an eye on Kaiden Reese. He was instrumental in Los Lunas' win, rushing for 166 yards on only six carries, while also throwing for 98 yards and one TD on only eight passes. Another big playmaker for they was Nick Fuentes, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Albuquerque now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Los Lunas, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. Albuquerque has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 209.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Los Lunas struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 189.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
