Recap: Cheylin Cougars vs. Golden Plains Bulldogs
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Cheylin Cougars proved on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Golden Plains 74-34 at home. Given Cheylin's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Golden Plains is ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheylin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady Ketzner, who scored 20 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Pablo Bermudez was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Dylan Wark and Miguel Garcia certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Wark scored 12 points along with two steals, while Garcia scored six points. Wark is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.
The victory makes it two in a row for Cheylin and bumps their season record up to 10-4. As for Golden Plains, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
