Baseball Recap: Marathon Comes Up Short

After flying high against Port St. Joe last Monday, Marathon came back down to earth. Marathon fell just short of the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 back in February.

Marathon's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), their record is now 8-9.

Looking ahead, Marathon is taking a road trip to face off against Fort Meade at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Fort Meade has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they will face off against Immaculata-La Salle at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Immaculata-La Salle will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
