Baseball Recap: Rejoice Christian Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Collinsville, Rejoice Christian was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Blackwell Maroons by a score of 6-3.

Micah Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rejoice Christian let Maverick Guinn and Tristan Willis run wild. Guinn scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Willis scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Willis a new career-high. Trace Sanchez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Rejoice Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in five consecutive matchups.

Rejoice Christian's record now sits at 6-12. As for Blackwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Rejoice Christian will square off against Stillwater at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Blackwell, they will challenge Crossings Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
