Hoover has gone 6-1 against Bob Jones recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Buccaneers will challenge the Patriots at 12:00 p.m.

Hoover can't be too happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Saturday. They fell just short of Madison Central by a score of 50-48.

Meanwhile, Bob Jones strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 71-41 victory over Mae Jemison. The Patriots pushed the score to 63-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.

Hoover better focus on containing Ella Watts and Ja'Kyah Smith as the pair were huge in Bob Jones' win. Watts went 7-for-15 on her way to 20 points, while Smith shot 64% from the field to rack up 14 points. Those 64% shooting accuracy gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Robinson, who posted six points.

Hoover didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bob Jones in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 62-57 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
