Basketball Game Preview: Douglas County Huskies vs. Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans

After both having extra time off, the Douglas County Huskies and the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Douglas County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.

Douglas County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Pueblo County 64-62.

It was another big night for Vaughn Baldwin, who posted 16 points and five steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Wynne, who earned 12 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Fountain-Fort Carson played a tough match two weeks ago in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Rock Canyon an easy 55-35 victory. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Jaguars are ranked 46th).

Douglas County's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
