Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Fredericktown's Winning Streak

Fredericktown fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against North County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 9-8. Even though they lost, the Black Cats' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Ryan Souden was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Noah Brubacher, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

With the loss, Fredericktown broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3. As for North County, their record now sits at 5-6.

Looking ahead, Fredericktown will head out on the road to square off against Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ste. Genevieve at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
