Softball Recap: Gretna East Gets the Win

After losing to Pius X the last time they met, Gretna East decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Griffins came out on top against the Thunderbolts by a score of 6-1 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Griffins.

Hadley McDowell looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Kaylin Hinerman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emerson Husen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Gretna East's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pius X, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Gretna East will venture away from home to face off against Elkhorn North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pius X, they will host Millard South at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Thunderbolts' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
