Gilman and McDonell Central are an even 3-3 against one another since August of 2015, but not for long. The Pirates will take on the Macks on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Gilman sitting on 12 straight victories and McDonell Central on seven.

Gilman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Oakfield with points to spare, taking the game 30-12. Those 30 points were actually the fewest the Pirates have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, McDonell Central faced Lena/Aquinas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Macks breezed past the Titians to the tune of 64-30. The result was nothing new for the Macks, who have now won 11 matchups by 34 points or more so far this season.

Gilman's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for McDonell Central, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Everything went Gilman's way against McDonell Central when the teams last played back in September, as Gilman made off with a 38-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
