Volleyball Recap: Wharton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wharton managed to slip by Strawberry Crest the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Chargers on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since September 10th.

While Wharton had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 25-18.

Amia Kennerdy paced Wharton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Kennerdy got some help from Lauren Galfond and her 16 assists. Kennerdy also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Maliyah Battle, racking up two apiece.

Wharton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Strawberry Crest, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Coming up, Wharton will head out to face off against Freedom at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Strawberry Crest, they will take on Northside Christian in a tournament on Friday.
