Recap: Independence vs. Lightridge Bolts
Independence can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 51-39 win over Lightridge. For Independence, this counts as revenge for the 53-49 loss Lightridge walked away with the last time they faced one another last Saturday.
Grant Kunkle was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Johnson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Independence's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Lightridge, they bumped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Independence will square off against Stone Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lightridge, they will be playing at home against Riverside at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
