St. Philip Catholic Central came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Mendon Hornets 77-59. The Fighting Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mendon's loss came despite strong showings from Ryder Gorham and Owen Gorham. Ryder went 11 of 23 en route to 25 points and five rebounds, while Owen posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That was a full 42.4% of Mendon's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristin Wood, who had five points.

St. Philip Catholic Central's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Mendon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Philip Catholic Central will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Union City at 11:50 a.m. on December 27th. As for Mendon, they will welcome Constantine at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
