Baseball Recap: Plano Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Plano was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 10-2 to the Mendota Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Reapers of the 10-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Quentin Santoria made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. Another player making a difference was Justin Bishop, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Plano's defeat dropped their record down to 14-19-1. As for Mendota, the victory got them back to even at 14-14.

The future could be bright for both Plano and Mendota: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Reapers will look to extend Kaneland's three-game losing streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mendota will try to hand Riverdale their third-straight loss when the two meet at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
