Football Game Preview: Winfield Generals vs. Point Pleasant Big Blacks + Official Tickets

The Winfield Generals will face off against the Point Pleasant Big Blacks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 36.4 points per game this season.

On Friday, Winfield strolled past Riverside with points to spare, taking the game 42-28.

Jared Miller had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 121 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 218 yards while completing 76.5% of his passes. Those 121 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gannon Boggs, who rushed for 122 yards and one TD.

Winfield didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Riverside to a completion percentage of just 31.2%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Aiden Tate and Tyler Laughery, who each logged two passes deflected. Winfield has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.58 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.58 in their last three games.

Winfield's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Drew Mann was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Meanwhile, Point Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 53-21 loss at the hands of John Marshall. That's two games in a row now that the Big Blacks have lost by exactly 32 points.

Winfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.3 points over those games. As for Point Pleasant, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
