Football Recap: Holtville Piles Up the Points Against Cibola

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holtville). They blew past the Cibola Raiders 60-0 on Thursday. The Vikings pushed the score to 54-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders had no chance of recovering from.

Enrique Armas had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 222 yards and five touchdowns on only nine carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Armas was just one part of a punishing run game: Holtville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 278 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Holtville's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Cibola, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Holtville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 48-6 victory against Escondido on the 26th. As for Cibola, they have also already played their next matchup, a 49-0 win against Somerton on the 26th.
