Baseball Game Preview: Bear River Bruins vs. Colfax Falcons

For the second straight game, Bear River will face off against Colfax. The Bruins will welcome the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Bear River is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Bear River fell victim to Colfax and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

For Colfax's part, Jaimeson Rawlins was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Rawlins also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Colfax is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7-1 otherwise. Rawlins was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Lucas Clark was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Bear River's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Colfax, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bear River has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Colfax struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts.
