Big Rapids took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Alma 48-7. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Big Rapids found their leader in sophomore Eli Foster, who rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 149 yards and one TD.

Big Rapids' run defense was locked in: Alma could only muster 3.2 yards per carry. The Cardinals didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.2.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Ludington on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Tri County Area out of the water with a 48-7 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-7.

Big Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Ludington, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Big Rapids beat Ludington 28-21 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
