St. Xavier won against Providence Catholic last Saturday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Tigers skirted past the DeSales Colts 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jakob Reed looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Coomer, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.

St. Xavier is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for DeSales, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Xavier will take on Male at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for DeSales, they will challenge Bullitt Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
