Basketball Recap: River Ridge Extends Winning Streak to Four

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only River Ridge walked away with it. They managed a 40-36 victory over the Fivay Falcons on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Royal Knights sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

River Ridge was led to victory by Lauren Lee and Mya Greene. Lee almost dropped a triple-double with nine points, 11 boards, and nine blocks, while Greene went 6-for-13 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Lee is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games she's played.

Despite the loss, Fivay still got an impressive performance from Naimah Mota, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave Mota a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Melany Garcia, who posted three points.

River Ridge's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Fivay, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

River Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-40 defeat against Wesley Chapel on the 7th. Fivay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
