Basketball Recap: Erick Dampier, Jr. Key Part of Team Effort in Patriots Win

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Erick Dampier, Jr. led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Dampier, Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 22 games he's played dating back to last season. Caeden Harvey was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven assists.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Leake Central, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison-Ridgeland Academy will host Choctaw Central at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
