Basketball Recap: Chicago Hope Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Yorkville Christian

Chicago Hope Academy had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Yorkville Christian Mustangs by a score of 59-56. Chicago Hope Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Yorkville Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Yorkville Christian was led to victory by Tray Alford and Jayden Riley. Alford went 8-for-13 to rack up 22 points and three steals, while Riley shot 45% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Alford has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Purvis, who posted 11 points.

Looking ahead, Chicago Hope Academy and Saint Ignatius College Prep will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. As for Yorkville Christian, they and Westinghouse will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
