Standish-Sterling is 6-1 against Pinconning since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will host the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Standish-Sterling comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Standish-Sterling managed to slip by Ogemaw Heights the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers were dealt a 43-0 loss at the hands of the Falcons on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Falcons are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, Pinconning came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 33-30 victory over Beaverton on Friday.

Pinconning's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Standish-Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Standish-Sterling against Pinconning when the teams last played back in August of 2022, as the squad secured a 60-0 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
