Basketball Recap: Seymour Takes a Loss

Seymour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northview Academy Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Cougars are ranked 103rd).

When it comes to explaining why Seymour lost, don't look at Hayes Golden. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ayden Huskey, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Seymour smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.
