Gainesville came out on top against Cedar Shoals on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Red Elephants put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 14-2 win. The Red Elephants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Gainesville's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-5. As for Cedar Shoals, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
