Basketball Recap: Logan Massenburg's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cox Mill over Concord + How To Watch

Cox Mill fought the good fight in their overtime game against Concord on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spiders. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Cox Mill's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Massenburg, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Thomas, who posted nine points.

Concord had a senior duo take command as Kyzen Coleman dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 boards and Jayden Beyan shot 50% from the field on his way to 17 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Lawson Childress, who earned six points.

Cox Mill's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Concord, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Cox Mill has already played their next matchup, a 61-51 win against Northwest Cabarrus on the 25th. As for Concord, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-21 victory against A.L. Brown on the 25th.
