Softball Recap: Harvest Prep Warriors vs. Millersport Lakers
Harvest Prep had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-11 to make it 11. They lost 29-6 to the Millersport Lakers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 5, 2023, but that streak is no more.
As for Millersport, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Millersport, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
For Millersport's part, Kendyl Bonkowski made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Bonkowski has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
