Basketball Recap: Troy Comes Up Short

Troy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Tippecanoe Red Devils 58-20. The Trojans lost against the Red Devils in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 51-34 score last time.

Troy got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Sammie Francis and Nayah Coleman, who each put up four points. Persephone Williamson held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Simone Adekoya took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Troy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Tippecanoe, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Troy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Greenville at 7:30 p.m. As for Tippecanoe, they will head out on the road to challenge Stebbins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
