Volleyball Game Preview: Nebo Crossing Academy Bulldogs vs. Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors

The Nebo Crossing Academy Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Nebo Crossing Academy has six straight victories, Lake Lure Classical Academy has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Nebo Crossing Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Christian Family Academy 2-1.

Nebo Crossing Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-18, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Lake Lure Classical Academy came up short against Veritas Christian Academy on Friday and fell 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Veritas Christian Academy scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20.

Lake Lure Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Nebo Crossing Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Nebo Crossing Academy couldn't quite get it done against Lake Lure Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in August of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
