Volleyball Game Preview: Piper Bengals vs. Spanish River Sharks + How To Watch

The Piper Bengals will face off against the Spanish River Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Piper is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since September 3rd on Wednesday. They came up short against Pembroke Pines Charter, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bengals in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost four in a row.

Piper was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-18, 26-24, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Piper saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madison Delamotte had ten digs and two aces. Delamotte has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Meanwhile, Spanish River didn't have quite enough to beat Dreyfoos School of the Arts on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Spanish River actually scored more points across those five sets (103-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 14-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Piper's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Spanish River, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Piper suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Spanish River when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Bengals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
