Baseball Recap: Cayuga Beats Kemp for Their Third Straight Victory

Cayuga put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Kemp Yellowjackets 16-1. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory the Yellowjackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Cash Conner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micah Redwine, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Colt Mullican, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Cayuga's record now sits at 3-0.

Cayuga didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Hillsboro on the 22nd. As for Kemp, they will be taking part in a tournament against Fairfield at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
