Basketball Recap: Luray Starts Season with Win at Home + How To Watch

Luray gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the East Rockingham Eagles with a sharp 72-52 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Luray had a senior duo take command as Matthew Owens went 8-for-13 on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and five steals and Connor Hilliard shot 50% from the field en route to 26 points and six rebounds. Owens' big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. William Judy was another key player, putting up nine points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luray will host Broadway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Rockingham, they will be playing at home against Page County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
