Baseball Game Preview: North Central Thunderbirds vs. West Vigo Vikings

The North Central Thunderbirds will head out to take on the West Vigo Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Central will be strutting in after a victory while West Vigo will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, North Central turned things around against Dugger Union on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 5-1.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither West Vigo nor Edgewood made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Vikings fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

West Vigo's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for North Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

North Central suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to West Vigo when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
