Football Recap: Wall Eagles vs. Castlewood Warriors

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wall had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Castlewood Warriors, posting a 62-12 victory. The Eagles' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Wall got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tanner Volmer out in front who threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Volmer also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making a tackle (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Jace Mohr was another key back, rushing for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Wall didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mohr and Volmer.

Wall pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Castlewood, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Wall will play host again on Friday to welcome Wolsey-Wessington, where kickoff is scheduled. Wall knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Wolsey-Wessington likes a good challenge. Castlewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
