Football Recap: Washington Union Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Washington Union couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were outmatched by the Kennedy Thunderbirds and fell 63-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since November 1, 2024.

Mckinley Williams threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns. Davien Potts was his top target, picking up 207 receiving yards and a pair of scores. On the ground, Jeremiah Foster rushed for 48 yards.

Kennedy's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cristian Hernandez, who rushed for 191 yards and three TDs. Hernandez's longest rush was for an incredible 94 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Jace Demacabalin, who rushed for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries.

The loss snapped Washington Union's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4 record. As for Kennedy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Washington Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kennedy, they will challenge Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
