League recap: Graham tops Estacado to extend winning streak

3A Region I District 5 recap December 3, 2013

Graham extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region I District 5 this week by beating Estacado, 42-6. The victory was the 13th in a row for the Steers.

Graham took down the Matadors 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ben Davis threw for 302 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for 62 yards during the win.

Kenny Davidson's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Davis chipped in 62 yards. Bryce Reeves helped Graham's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 57 yards.

He was 12-18 with 0 interceptions.

Davis was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Dillon Gonzales added to the ground attack by rushing for 33 yards.

The Steers' Davis and Reeves have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 3,456 yards this season, while Reeves has 68 catches for 1,258 yards. Cedrick Battle from Hirschi leads the league in rushing with 1,571 yards.

Terrance Cooper has rushed for 957 yards on 140 carries so far this year.

Graham led 3A Region I District 5 in scoring this week by notching 42 points on Estacado. Davis in the win.
