Basketball Recap: North Wilkes Comes Up Short on the Road Against Forbush

North Wilkes kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Forbush Falcons by a score of 61-59. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Forbush to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Dudley, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Trey Speaks, who posted eight points and six boards.

Looking ahead, North Wilkes will face off against Surry Central at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Forbush, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elkin at 8:00 p.m. on December 1.
