Bartram Trail entered their tilt with Columbia on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Tigers. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 10-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bartram Trail got several good pitching performances, but Connor Jones was perhaps the best, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Jones has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Max Wilkerson, who went 4-for-6 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Ryder Uzzel also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Bartram Trail's record now sits at 6-1. As for Columbia, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Coming up, Bartram Trail will venture away from home to take on St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellow Jackets have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Columbia, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Forest at 7:00 p.m.
